The Federal Association of Insurance Companies led spending with around €15.3 million in 2024, followed by the Federal Consumer Protection Association at €12.7 million and the Automobile Industry Association at €9.9 million.

Concerns Over Balance

Finanzwende warned that the intensity of lobbying by the German financial sector could create an imbalance between corporate interests and civil society, as civic groups cannot match the scale of financial resources deployed.

The parliamentary register currently includes more than 6,000 entities required to disclose their lobbying activities and resources.
