Moroccans Dominate Seasonal Labor in Spain with 81% Share
Official figures show that seasonal labor in Spain expanded notably in 2025, as recruitment programs for non-EU migrants helped employ around 28,800 workers.
According to Spain’s Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, source-country hiring schemes grew by 25% year on year, highlighting Spain’s increasing reliance on seasonal labor in Spain to meet production needs.
Moroccan Dominance
Moroccan workers accounted for the largest share at 81% of total contracts, followed by Colombians at 13% and Hondurans at 4%.
Agriculture Leads
The agricultural sector remains the primary destination, with nine out of ten contracts signed with women averaging 43 years old, underscoring the growing role of women in seasonal labor in Spain.
Workers from 17 countries participated in the program last year, reflecting broader international labor cooperation.
