Inflation in the Netherlands Falls to a Four-Month Low

Inflation in the Netherlands continued its downward trend in December, reaching its lowest level in four months, signaling easing price pressures on consumers toward the end of the year.

Preliminary data showed that consumer prices rose by 2.8% year on year in December, slightly down from 2.9% in November, reflecting a gradual slowdown in inflationary momentum.

Services inflation declined to 4.1% from 4.3%, while annual growth in food, beverages, and tobacco prices remained stable at 3.1%.

Lower energy prices, including a 0.4% drop in fuel costs, also contributed to the easing of inflation in the Netherlands.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices showed little change at the end of the year, indicating relative price stability.

According to the EU-harmonized measure, inflation stood at 2.5% in December compared to 2.6% in November, confirming the recent downward trajectory of inflation in the Netherlands.
